The Magnificent Seven

A large group - 21 in all - set off in to enjoy an early ride to beat the heat. Welcome to Yoram - we hope he returns after our eventful day... Well, as the proverb goes, the best-laid plans of mice and men oft go astray. Beat the heat? Mr Murphy of Murphy's law was laughing up his sleeve.

We cycled along our familiar routes only to be halted not one, not twice and not thrice - but seven times with punctures. One glutton for punishment even had two! And if you think Murphy was happy with that, no, he wasn't. Two went missing and by the time I headed home after a delicious bun and coffee, they were still not to be seen. To be heard, yes, calling and reporting where they were. Each time it seemed further and further from us.

Despite the numerous emergency stops, we covered 34km by the time we all met up at the Agam cafe where we enjoyed a rest and tried to guide the missing ones home. - a bit like the David Bowie song:
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
